This is a 1956 Thunderbird body and frame that was originally Peacock Blue. It was originally sold by the Jelton Motor Company of 2560 Webster Street, Oakland, California. When new, it came with a Porthole Top, Tinted Glass, and Backup Lights, among other options. Gas and antifreeze were $1.56. The wholesale price, delivered to the dealer in 1956, was $2,998.75 and it was delivered from the assembly plant to Oakland via rail - shipping charges were $53.00. This car was being offered on eBay in September, 2002. UPDATE October 2012, Dennis Dole reports it was offered for sale at auction by Worldwide Auctioneers 2012. UPDATE March 2021, it is now fully restored to its original color and for sale by Classic Car Deals in Michigan. It is reported to have only 70,000 miles on its odometer. (photo added)
