This is a 1956 Thunderbird. It is Peacock Blue and has 3-speed manual transmission. Prior to 1991 it had a complete frame-off restoration. In January, 1991 it was offered for sale at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Phoenix, Arizona. As of January, 2003 its status was unknown. + + + + + + UPDATE April 2012, Dennis Dole reports he bought this Thunderbird in August 1989 at El Cerrito, California. At the time it was Fiesta Red, he performed a frame-off restoration and returned the car to its original color and interior. It was sold at the B-J auction in 1991 and then transported to a private museum in the Portland, Oregon area. April 26, 2012: Dennis sent the picture above which shows RN 4526 at the Scottsdale auction in January 1991, as it was being unloaded.
