Brian F. McCabe says: Norman T. Bird (that's his name) was built on March 9, 1956. He was shipped to Cort Fox Ford, 4531 Hollywod Boulevard, Hollywood, California, on March 13th. He was purchased by Ed & Ethel Dow of Hacienda Heights, California, on April 16, 1956. They had him until September, 1989, when we bought him and took him to his new home in Florida. He was fully restored in 1990, and still resides in the Florida panhandle today. Norman was shown at the CTCI National Meet in Tulsa in 1992 and took a Gold Award. The following year he took a first place in the Touring Class at the CTCI Regional in Atlanta. Since then, Norman has retired to local shows, and has appeared in several commercial photo shoots. Norman enjoys being out on the road every day running errands. Residing at the beach, Norman is very popular with the tourists at local grocery stores and gas stations. The picture shows Norman with Florida license plate number 56. I acquired it in 1993 after the person who had it for 50 years left the state.
