UPDATE January 2012, Jim Prudner notified the Registry that he recently acquired this Thunderbird. He says it has been restored to the original Thunderbird Green color.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Former owner David Kamenesky says: Jim Beam produced a decanter of a green 1956 T-Bird that had a brown interior. To my knowledge, my '56 T-Bird is the only known Thunderbird Green 1956 Thunderbird produced from the factory with a brown and white interior. This was a documented one-owner car when I purchased it in January, 2004. It had undergone a complete body off restoration in 1992 with a color change to pink! Only worn out parts were replaced but the car still had it's original soft top vinyl, still in great condition, but water stained on the tan underside! I learned this when I (unfortunately) had the top replaced as it had been installed with tacks! When the carburetor was sent to PONY for a rebuild, they confirmed that it was the original factory carburetor! All this information was later confirmed by the original owner, a 91 year old gentleman, who I have remained in contact with since I purchased the car. His wife purchased the car new in 1956 and by 1992, her favorite color became pink and it went well with the brown and white interior. As beautiful as the car is now, in the near future, I intend to restore it to it's original and unusual Thunderbird Green. I couldn't have been more fortunate to have found this very special car along with the friendship with it's original owner, a very rare occurrence in itself. = = = = = = Click on the Documents link below to the see the factory invoice. = = = = =
