Don Smick says: I purchased my Thunderbird in the spring of 2002. Owning the 1956 Thunderbird is the realization of a lifelong dream.....the T-Bird goes on the road frequently.....puts the fun back into driving !!! I obtained the original invoice for my Bird from The American Road Thunderbird Club and found that it was built on May 24, 1956. It was shipped to a dealer in California (Sierra Madre). Base price on the invoice was $2164.87, optional equipment added $515.85 and dealer, destination and federal excise taxes added another $409.90 !!! Add $0.60 for 5 pints of antifreeze and you get the total price ---- $3091.22 !! UPDATE December 2017, This car is just listed for sale by GR Auto Gallery in Grand Rapids, Michigan for $39,900 or make offer and has 31,872 miles on its odometer.
