This 1956 Thunderbird was offered for sale by My Auto Locator in Phoenix, Arizona. The car is reported to have a red exterior and automatic transmission. UPDATE January 2013, Glen Hockenjos reports it is scheduled to be sold at Russo and Steele Scottsdale in January 2013, consignment# 3557. UPDATE January 2019, Charles W. Young notified the Registry that he owns this Thunderbird. He says: I bought this car after it did not sell at Russo & Steele in 2014. I purchased the car from Kachina Cadillac in Scottsdale, AZ. Kachina Cadillac was one of the dealerships owned by John Lund. I was told that this car was from his personal collection and was being sold as he liquidated his estate to avoid taxes in case of his death. Shortly after I took possession of the car (February of 2014) the dealership was sold.
The car is a 312 4 bbl, Fordomatic. Power steering, manual brakes. All I have done is add front and rear sway bars and had the frame straightened; now I can stop in a straight line without wrestling with the steering wheel! Oh yes, I also upgraded the water pump spacer to Chris Ames's A-432 design and cooling problems are gone. I am a member of the Arizona Classic Thunderbird Club, chapter #35 of the Classic Thunderbird Club International. We participate in many, many parades.
