This 1956 Thunderbird sold at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2008 Auction (Lot #1024.1) for $126,500. It is a fresh Minter's restoration with test miles only; it has a rebuilt 312/225hp V8 with a 4-barrel, Fordomatic automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes. It has both tops: new white replacement softtop and porthole hardtop. It has engine dress-up option, rebuilt Town & Country signal seek radio, five real Thunderbird wire wheels and correct Firestone Deluxe Champion wide whitewalls. UPDATE December 2013, Dennis Dole reports it will be offered at the 2014 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction (Lot #1100). Codes added January 2014. UPDATE April 2014 David Terricciano says: I purchased this Thunderbird at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale in January 2014. A previous Minter restoration, I plan to enjoy it in New England.
