Andrew Clark says: My C-model 1957 Thunderbird was built late in the evening of December 14, 1956. It was shipped to Honolulu, Hawaii after traveling by train to San Jose, California. I believe it was owned by more than a few people on Oahu before my grandfather bought it in 1968. He gave it to my mother as a college graduation gift. Before that, it had been painted 6 times. Each time, the previous paint was just covered up with a new layer. It also had a bad tuck and roll job on the dashboard. It had never been restored and when I became the car's owner in 1996, the rust was becoming extensive (12 years in Hawaii will do that to a car). I began a frame-on restoration in 1996, but quickly discovered that the body would have to come off to repair it correctly. The extensive restoration was completed in October 2004 and the car is show quality and 99% councours correct. It has a 292 cu in engine, 2 bbl Holley and 3-speed transmission. It also has both tops.
