Ben Watson says: This car is undergoing a complete frame off restoration and modification at this time, whan I bought the car earlier this year it had been in storage since 1983, the previous owner had started the resroration but for whatever reason stopped and placed the dissaccembled car in storage.
The body is being restored by Gil Bumgardner and the chassis has been restored by me with the following modifications, rack and pinion front end clip from Fatman Fabrications, 1993 tbird 5.0 engine with electronic fuel injection, aod4 overdrive automatic transmision.The car will appear stock except fot the color which will be 1956 Thunderbird Peacock Blue which will be carried through the interior, the tach has been modified to work electronically to keep the instrument panel looking origional. It will have air, and a modern radio, tape and cd player. The steering wheel is being restored and reduced in diameter to 15" to match the feel of the 3 turn lock to lock power rack and pinion steering. The car should be finished just in time for the 2003 spring season and will combine the timeless beauty of the 1957 Thunderbird with modern feel and handling excellent fuel economy and driveability.
