Steve says: My wife and I bought this Thunderbird on March 14, 2006. It belonged to a life-long friend of mine, Richard J. Scully. To the best of my knowledge he was the original owner. He traded in a 1955 Thunderbird and got $1,165 for it and put down an additional $200 in down payment.
We are restoring it now, it's one hell of a job but we are having fun doing it. So far we have checked out all componets of the car and they all match. It is a hard top convertible with no port hole. It has a 312 ccubic inch engine with one four barrel carb, 3 speed on the floor with overdrive trans, tag says 3.70 on the third member. It's our adopted child and now part of our family. It was originally Raven Black with Colonial White top. Richard painted it blue a million years ago <grin>. We will paint the car back to it's orginal color. Any questions you would like to ask, please dont hesitate. ------------------------ John Schnabel submitted this registration on August 30, 2005: This 1957 Thunderbird was spotted in the north Texas area. It is in bad rusted shape. It was an automatic transmission car; no power windows, power seat, or soft top. It was for sale for $5,000 in 2005. ----------------UPDATE July 2014, Jim Moe saw this Thunderbird at the CTCI convention in Springfield, Missouri on July 4, 2014. He reports it has been wonderfully restored to its original condition. (picture is from 2005)
