Rick Payton says: We purchased the car in Louisville, KY April 2005. This car is a dream come true. I have been looking for 56 or 57 for many years. I was lucky enough to find this car. It is Starmist Blue with starmist blue hardtop and blue interior. It has the 3 speed manual with overdrive. I don't know a lot about the car or its history. I actually purchased the car for the previous owners representative. I never got the chance to actually have a conversation with the owner. All I know is the previous owner purchased the car at auction a few years prior. In the few months that I have had the car I have, rebuilt the carburetor, fixed all the gauges, and fixed the vent doors. Next on the list is a new soft top. At some point in the last 2 or 3 years the car has had a complete frame off restoration. I have been told that they only made 900 of the 1957 Thunderbirds with Overdrive transmissions. = = = = = = = This Thunderbird was seen at the RM Auction in Michigan in August, 2001 and the Kruse Auction in Indiana in September, 2001. Arthur Ash III supplied the picture; as of April, 2005 it was in Louisville, Kentucky. Rick Payton notified the Registry on August 7, 2005 that he owns this Thunderbird. UPDATE March 8, 2013, Dennis Dole reports it was for sale on ebay and located in Bullhead City, AZ. (picture updated)
