Mike Jones says: Just purchased this from previous owner of 35 years. Just starting research, looking for help and hoping this is the first place to start. The tires on it are Sears bias ply date coded from 1974 and look to have 100% tread, so car has not been driven much in last 40. The mileage reads 83,000.
Car is a 1957 two top. It is currently red. The data plate is missing, VIN is clear on frame. The engine doesn't seem to be correct, maybe a '59 truck 292 2 bbl, but I am trying to verify. Casting number is B9AE 6015, Intake manifold B9EA 8425-B. I plan to research it, redo the brakes and get it running right, mount the fender skirts, clean underside and engine compartment, find an original radio and driver side mirror, maybe some rear suspension work and some weather stripping/seals, then sell. = = = = = = = = = = = [Note from Registry: This Thunderbird's VIN was verified from the frame stamp. Previously, a different Thunderbird had been registered with the same VIN. As of 10/26/2014 the Registry is trying to establish the correct VIN of that car.] - - - Dennis Dole reports In August 2015 it was offered for sale on ebay and was located in Thomasville, GA.
