The owner of this 1957 Thunderbird wishes to remain anonymous. He says this about his car: Our 1957 Thunderbird was my mother's only car until I was about 13 or 14. As of this writing on 4/26/2020, I am 49 years old. She used to ferry my two sisters and I all over town, to school, sports, etc. in the car in all kinds of weather - snow, rain, hot, and cold - every day. It was originally purchased by Theodore A. Waribel Jr. (who lived in Denver, CO), in Detroit, MI (presumably for $3,408), it was traded to Johnnie Harper Motors, Inc. in Wheat Ridge, CO sometime between 1957 and 1961. It was subsequently purchased from Johnnie Harper Motors, Inc. by Harold and Joan Stauffer on 12/26/1961, at which time the car had logged 18,000 miles. The car was later traded to Bill Laird Motor Co. in Hastings, NE on 12/20/1966. My grandfather purchased the car for $2,000 on 1/10/1967, freshened it up, and gave it to my mother, Sally B., as a college graduation gift, at which time it had 38,000 miles on the odometer. It was her only transportation until about 1985. My mother stopped driving the car in approximately 1996, and I began caring for the car beginning in about 2003. She gifted the car to me on May 11, 2019. I continue to own and care for the car today, and it runs and drives very well, and remains in original condition, with the exception of typical routine repairs and consumables. The engine has never been rebuilt. As of this writing on 4/26/2020, it shows 6,292 miles on the odometer, which I believe to be 106,292 actual miles.
