Christel LeCount says: My dad purchased this car from an elderly lady back in the late 1980's. They brought the car to his shop for many years previous to have a new battery put in and an oil change done once per year. She was finally ready to get rid of it and sold it to my dad. I spent many evenings with him in the garage listening to oldies while he tinkered on the car. When it came time to go to prom in 1998, Dad drove me in the car with my boyfriend (now my husband) with his chaffeur hat and cheesy tuxedo t-shirt on. And when we got married in 2004, my Dad once again chauffeured me to the church in the Bird. When he passed away in 2011, I paid him back after his memorial service and took his urn on his last classic car cruise around the town square to his final resting place in the Bird. It has a lot of meaning to our family. I still have it. I have since had lap belts installed and they hold my daughters' car seats. They love to take spins around the block in the car. It's a red and white hardtop and we call it the Colonel.
