I did find the car behind a secondhand (scrapyard) carshop and fell in love (wrong!), it was in a bad shape, but what has love to do with money, nothing, in love is......
With a lot of time and craftmanship, we made quarter panels, doors, the hood, etc, and that where the looks, no replacement parts in the Netherlands; mechanical we rebuilt the powersteering, electrical, brakes, dash, doors (vinyl), windows sealing (rubbers), original radio, suspension, a valve in the automatic transmission and a lot more which I can't remember. This winter, 2002/2003 maybe I will give it a full paintshop and a tune-up, the first time it gets to a shop. It's cream-white orginal color (Motip color 46015), has a C6 trans,a Holley carburetor, which I know isn't orginal. But mechanically the car is perfect. In Europe I ve seen many beautiful Thunderbirds but they run poorly because of the bad shape the mechanical parts are. It's a well driven car as you can see and I drive it a lot; it's my workhorse, sportscar and limousine, what else would you own! Every year I drive it to and from Spain or Italy without a problem, a good car, sometimes I wish I lived in the U.S., because of the spare parts and the size of the small streets in the Netherlands (cramped...) I have owned it for 4 years now.
