This is a 1958 Thunderbird Hardtop. It is Raven Black (A) with a black cloth and vinyl interior (XC). It was scheduled for production on June 14, 1958 (14F), has Cruise-O-Matic transmission (4), and a 3.10:1 rear axle ratio. As of 1998 it was owned by Richard Johnson of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin who stated that it was undergoing restoration.
Richard Johnson says: This car was bought from a dealership in Mason City, Iowa by my father for my grandmother. She paid for the car but my dad picked it out. It was supposedly a dealer demo car that went to Mexico. Who knows but during the restoration there was remnants of a trailer hitch that was installed on the car in it's past life. Grandmother never pulled a trailer. I bought the car from her about 20 years ago and the restoration started 10 years ago. It has been on and off mostly due to parts issues and documentation on how these cars were built. That is another story. I am the second owner and hope to pass it along in the family.
