Sean Manness says: My 1958 Thunderbird Hrdtop came from Saskatchewan, Canada about three weeks ago (I am in Manitoba). I bought the car sight unseen. It supposedly had solid frame rails, rockers, and quarter panels, ran really well and needed interior work. When I picked it up I found that indeed it did run and drive very well(except it had no brakes) and the interior did need work (someone actually button tufted the entire dash and doorpanels) but the car was real rotten. <p>Being a body man I have spent some real late nights making this car solid again, and giving it a set of brakes, literally every piece. The car has not been used since 1987 and the fuel tank was full of crud, so the tank and carb were cleaned. I put a new set of tires on, and actually just went for the first ride last night. I love this car. I am amazed at how well it rides, even being lowered 3 inches. The car is currently silver with a black vinyl top, red and white interior, no power windows or air conditioning. It still has the Thunderbird Special 352 V-8, and power brakes and steering. Plans are for a very correct late 50's custom, along the same lines as Larry Watson's car. I have already moulded the front 13 inches of the lakes pipes ino the body, and the handles will be shaved. The interior will be completely original and correct, as will be the engine compartment.
