Robert Shuster says: My 1959 Thunderbird Hardtop is located in NE Ohio, where it was originally sold by Geo. Waikem Ford, of Massillon, Ohio. I believe the odometer mileage, 63,705 is the actual mileage, which means the car has only been driven an average of about 1,350 miles per year. It has a clear Ohio title, but at the time ownership was transferred, mileage documentation was not required. I am only the third documented owner, and still garage the car in the local area.
Here's a description:

Mechanical: Top-notch, very clean (could use a professional detailing), original 352/Cruise-O-Matic, with solid documentation on maintenance records. Replaced cooling, electrical, power steering, power brakes, fuel, shocks, and exhaust subsystems. Recent alignment, Five, low-mileage, OEM-type, Goodyear Custom Power-Cushion Wide WSW bias-ply tires. Other documentation includes factory shop manual and wiring diagrams.

Interior: Tasteful (4X- trim code) interior trim, original Gray-checked Cloth. Black vinyl and piping, professionally replaced. New black foam dash padding. New black carpet and correct white floor mats. Original door panels/arm rests and trunk lining appear nearly new. Some interior trim as been re-chromed, some show shows minor pitting. All gauges work. Original electric clock replaced with Quartz movement. Original, 6-tube "Console Radio" replaced with AM/FM Cassette.(Originals have been saved.) Day/Night mirror. Front safety seat belts.

Exterior: Original Colonial White, professionally resprayed in mid-eighties. Has some minor imperfections, expected with this age restoration. Always garaged and covered. Some minor surface rust. Bumpers re-chromed several years ago. Exterior chrome trim does show some pitting. Correct "Sun Ray" wheel covers and fender skirts, dual fifties FoMoCo rear view mirrors. - - - - - - - - - -

In summary, this is a very sharp un-molested, complete, and historically accurate Square 'Bird specimen. While not top-notch show quality, it is an above average, older amateur restoration showing only minor flaws in paint and trim. Always garage kept, with limited, good-weather driving and super-attentive maintenance. - - - - - - - - - - -

With it's tasteful Colonial White exterior and very nice Cloth interior, its perfect for Wedding duty or with a little more work it could be an award-winning show car.
