Lou Thomas says that his father bought his 1959 Thunderbird new in Maspeth, Queens County, New York in May, 1959. It does not have any power assists and does not have a radio. It does however have a dealer-installed radio antenna which was a mistake. This Thunderbird has Overdrive transmission. Lou says that Ford Motor Company sent his father a letter which stated this was the last 1959 Thunderbird to be built with Overdrive. ----
This Thunderbird is in the process of being fully restored. It is part of the Family Ties roster in this Registry. -Note:-The picture above was taken when the Thunderbird was new, in Queens, New York.
