Steve Rigling says: I recently purchased this Tbird from a man in Zanesville Ohio. The Body is nearly rust free. The convertible top is in good, serviceable condition but may be replaced once I get the other work finished. It functions properly with no leaks. Cosmetically everything needed refurbished. The seats were shot so we got new foam and covers and reupholstered them ourselves. Not perfect but pretty good for rookies. The trunk area was covered with hideous looking dark blue shag carpet as well as the recesses in the trunk lid. We installed a new correct vinyl liner and cleaned everything. The engine bay was painted the same color of blue as the carpet in the trunk so we painted that to match the light blue exterior paint. The previous owner was planning to install A/C and sent some of the parts but there was so much missing we went back to the original heat/vent only to keep it reasonably original. He had scrapped the blower housing, motor etc but we were able to find parts on eBay at good prices. I went completely through the dash, new lamps, cleaned and oiled the speedo, and other gauges, new detent plate on the shifter etc. The trans was a train wreck so we had it rebuilt. The original plan for the 352 motor was disassembly, boil the block and reassemble but there were too many previous sins so we opted for a complete rebuild. It was bored 40 over with all new internals. We should be good for the rest of my life. This all began in March of 2021 and still in the reassembly stage.
