Allen Gilstrap says: I purchased my 1959 Thunderbird from the original owner April 1963. (the day before my marriage). It was my daily driver until 1979, and an occasional driver until 1984. It had been in storage through 2008.
<p> I have begun total restoration. The paint was stripped, it was repainted, all chrome re-plated, the engine rebuilt (bored .30 over), new brake cylinders and pads, new brake lines, gas lines, gas tank and front end totally rebuilt. I will shortly have new top and total interior installed. The power steering unit is on order.
