Randy Ade says:This 1959 Thunderbird Convertible was seen on eBay in May, 2003. It is blue with a black interior. It is located in St George, Utah. According to the seller: "1959 Thunderbird Convertible was purchased in the mid 70’s and was partially restored (new paint and top) at that time. Dad purchased the car from a local, private owner in Salt Lake City. The car has spent most of the last 25+ years in the dry climate of southern Utah. About 5 years ago, Dad’s T-Bird was willed to his granddaughter to help finance her schooling. As fare as we know the car has the original 352 engine and automatic transmission. Options include power steering, power brakes, power windows (non- working) and power driver’s seat. Car has been stored for most of the last 15 years and needs a few things to make it street ready. Vin # H9YJ163752, odometer reads 01036 (101,036 believed to be actual miles) The engine runs but needs new engine and transmission mounts installed This car is mostly all there but would require further restoration to be presentable. Some of the side windows are cracked and power windows are not working. The top is in good shape but the rear window is discolored. The interior and dash would need to be replaced. Door locks and some trim pieces were not reinstalled after painting, some 20 years ago, but appear to all be in a box. The rear wheel skirts are missing. The body seems to be strait and very little rust. Chrome parts would need refinishing."<p>
This car has Utah license 612 BLF. It has non-standard hub-caps. It looks like the person "restoring it" was going for the minimalist approach to chrome (no front or rear birds and the script off the doors). This car has a firewall mounted power brake booster (most '59 had them under the dash).
