Don Alfano says: My 1959 Thunderbird Hardtop had several owners, the first of whom was John Faulkner of Victoria, Texas who bought the car from Wendall Motor Car Company in Yokum, Texas in March, 1959. It was originally white with a turquoise interior and had a 430 cubic inch Lincoln engine. One of the previous owners dropped-in a 352 and painted it red. After that, it spent 12 years sitting in a field where a variety of critters made it their home. I bought it in 1995 from a gas station owner in San Marcos, Texas who was trying to rejuvenate it but ran out of money. I did some engine work (fuel, ignition), tranny rebuild, exhaust, interior slip covers, bodywork and paint (red with parchment top). It's a good-looking, great-running ride that turns lots of heads, but certainly not a show car - it's a driver.
