[Former owner Ken Harkema says] This is a 1959 Convertible I bought in 1987. It needs complete restoration. Equipped with 430 Lincoln motor,power steering, power brakes, power windows. Original silver car and I will repaint it silver and install red leather interior. I have the motor and transmission already rebuilt and many parts stashed away for the restoration. UPDATE December 2018, Ken says the restoration process has started. UPDATE December 2022, Wolfgang Kaiser notified the Registry that he owns this Thunderbird. He says: Bought it from Ken Harkema, after he had completed the restoration, through a German dealer.
I intend to use it as a daily driver in the summer. My father already drove a '59 Convertible and I always dreamed of owning one. The German roads are still too narrow, but it doesn't stand out so much anymore, next to all the fat SUVs . For me, the Squarebird is the most beautiful and especially the '59.
