Scott Dunbar says:My father bought the car new in our home town of Bemidji, Minnesota. It was shipped up from Minneapolis late in 1959 and delivered to him thru Bob Lowth Ford of Bemidji. Dad drove the car up through 1985 then stored it in his old garage with plans to restore it to new condition when he finished the shop in his new garage in the early 90s. He was unable to get back to it and passed away in March of 1997. My mother decided to give me the car in January 1999 as a early wedding present. We were home in November of 1999, pulled it out of the garage and had her running in about four hours. <p> The fuel pump no longer functions so I had to rig an electric pump temporarily. The brakes no longer work and the muffler is loud. But I was able to drive around the garage using the handbrake. What fun !!! I did find out what dad used to grunt about when getting in. I hit me left knee on the door post/window frame like he used to. We have been home two other times to see dads bird, oh and my mom too. We will be going up with my car trailer and truck to haul it back to Kansas to start the restoration. I may drive it some first though because I practically grew up in the car (I was born in September of 1959). I'm really looking forward to those sunny Sunday afternoons. She's a Corinthian White Hardtop with a red and white interior (completely original).
