Clayton King says: My Thunderbird has 56,000 miles, 352 cid, no A/C, manual steering, manual trans, manual windows, leather seats (the car has been repainted white)

This car was my wife's first car. She bought the car when she was 16 (1988). The car was prchased in Shelbyville, KY from a private collector. Soon my wife realized she didn't like the manual transmission so the car sat for about ten years in either a barn or a field (depending on the time of year). It hadn't been started in about ten years. I hauled the car home in July of 2002. When I could find time to work on the car I rebuilt the carburator, cleaned the gas tank, replaced the points & condensor, changed the oil and dropped in a battery. By this time it was November. I hit the key and the engine turned over with ease, but a "popping" noise was heard. After some investigating I found that I had an exhaust valve hanging open. I fixed this problem, poured some gas down the carb, hit the key and the old bird came to life! She runs as smooth as she did when she was new.
