In June 2016 this 1960 Thunderbird hardtop was offered for sale on ebay and was located in Midway, KY. It was originally sold on July 26th 1960 at Gillespie Motor Company of San Antonio, TX. Madeline Merrett purchased the car and kept it until her death in 1987 upon which her daughter Carol assumed ownership. Carol lived in Wisconsin at that time as well as her son who she entrusted the Bird. The next owner was Russell Westmeyer of Waverly, IA. A Mr. Ned Werling of Lexington, KY became the next owner in the early 2000’s with 180000 miles showing on the odometer. He entered the T-bird in the Keeneland Concours in 2004. He later sold it in or around 2009-2010 to a Jim Smith also from Lexington, KY. UPDATE December 2017 it is for sale in Chelsea, Alabama. As of October 2018 its status and location were unchanged.
