Gary Hamm says: I purchased my 1960 Thunderbird Convertible in 1980 from the original owner. I restored it in 1980-1982 and it was last plated in 1992. It sat in the garage up until recently (2009) and I am in the process of getting it back in shape again.
Registrar's Note: This 1960 Thunderbird has 3-speed manual transmission (without Overdrive), and a 3.70 to 1 rear axle ratio. It is estimated that fewer than 2% of all 1960 Thunderbird Convertibles came equipped with 3-speed manual "Conventional Drive" transmission or Overdrive. The probability of any manual transmission 1960 Thunderbird surviving into even its 10th year was very low. Gary provided a scan of the build sheet, which indicates in capital letters: STANDARD TRANSMISSION - - - - - (including the dashes after).
