John Byers says: My 1960 Thunderbird Convertible was purchased new by my father from his uncle, who was a Ford dealer (Byers Motor Company) for 40+ years. It is white with a red leather interior. It has power windows and power seat, but not air conditioning. It has a dealer-installed spotlight. The original 352 V-8 engine has been replaced with a high performance 390 with a 4-row radiator and shroud. All tin and hardware under the hood is standard 352-issue. It has also been updated with disc brakes and a heavy duty sway bars. The only external changes are Kelsey-Hayes reproduction 15" wire wheels. It has a new convertible top (with a fairly new motor) that goes up and down like a clock (knock on wood!). It is still a work in progress - the interior is next (new carpet and stereo).
