Loni Figgins says: Unfortunately, I came accross this Thunderbird a little too late to put it back on the road where it belongs. I found it behind the house of the owner of a parts yard, while I was looking for other car parts. What I was told was that it had been sitting 25 years, run once a month for the first couple of them, then just left to sit. The top was gone and therefore the weather had taken its toll on the body and interior when they had allowed the tarp over it to rip and blow away. The uni-frame is gone and the floor pans fertilized the ground where dandelions were now growing.

With it in this "rough" condition, you may wonder why I even bothered with it - two Reasons. The main reason was the sister 1960 hardtop sitting right next to it (I will list seperately). Secondly, I knew that the drive train and other parts made it a worthwhile partner for the hardtop. With a lot of bracing and wire I was able to get the remainder of the rag top on a flat bed and home. Then I came back for the hardtop.

I do not know any history about either car, as they were both purchased by the owner of the yard 2 decades ago. I have begun the slow task (slow do to little time) of removing, cataloging and cleaning parts that will someday help others with their projects, as well as assist in getting the hard top on the road. I will update this entry with additional codes/information as I get back into it this year.
