Gary Swiatowy says: This car was purchased by my father as a used car in 1963. He had a lot of trouble with the front end "shimmying" uncontrollably until he braked the car to a stop. Even had a lot of contact with Ford trying to resolve the problem.My grandfather liked this red 61 so much that he purchased a new red 1964 Bird. In 1968 My grandfather bought a new 1968 Thunderbird and sold my dad the '64. The '61 then became my mother's car making us a 2-red T-Bird family! In 1973 my grandfather bought a new 1973 Bird (which I have today) The '68 became my dad's car, the '64 my moms for a very short time. The '61 was sold as it was getting pretty tired and the best I can remember clocked in at 160,000 miles.
Wonder if it is still around today…………
