Jason Bauer says: My 1961 Thunderbird Hardtop has been in my family since 1967. It was originally put in the garage because of a bad brake line in 1969...it never moved again. After 10 years of my brothers and I debating who would get the car, I finally won. I began working on it 2 years ago. I found it doesn't have the original engine (it has a 1969 390 interceptor motor out of a Galaxie California Highway Patrol Car). I've completly rebuilt the brakes, all the suspension, and the engine with a little extra since it isn't stock anyway. I need to get the transmission rebuilt (it is original), and I am currently looking for someone to paint the car. The car has very little rust....just the driver's lower quarter. I am looking forward to taking the car back to Ohio and letting my mother drive her old car again when it is finally complete.
