This 1961 Thunderbird Convertible is for sale on ebay and located in Wilmette, Illinois. UPDATE June 2012, Craig Kamansky notified the Registry that he owns this Thunderbird. He says: It is Nautilus Gray Metallic, (code P) which was shared with the Lincoln and only available (on Fords) in 1961 on a Thunderbird. It has a red interior (changed from original black) which makes the car stunning to look at, has factory retrofitted tonneau cover and Ford-Kelsey wire wheels, which somehow they got the fender skirts to cover. It has the 390-300 h.p. engine. It looks just like the Sports Roadsters but of course they did not offer the Sports Roadster in 1961. The car was bought and owned in Texas for 47 years, then moved briefly to Illinois, where I found it last year. UPDATE August 2012, Lee Bakakos notified that he has re-acquired this Thunderbird from former owner Craig Kamansky. (to whom Lee sold it earlier). Lee adds that this Thunderbird's SelectAire Conditioner works perfectly and the car itself is in excellent condition.
