This is a 1963 Thunderbird Hardtop. It is Acapulco Blue (E) with a beige vinyl interior (54). It was scheduled to be built on October 2, 1962 (02K) and ordered by a Ford dealer through the San Jose, California District Sales Office (72). In December, 1999 this Thunderbird was documented by Don Kimrey of Kansas City, Missouri. He reported that the body was doubly stamped with the VINs "3Y83M108588" and "3Y83Z108588" indicating that the car may have left the Wixom Assembly Plant with the standard Z-code 390-cubic inch V-8 engine. The axle code on the VIN plate is incorrectly stamped "M" however it has a 3.10:1 rear axle ratio which has a code of "2". In addition, this Thunderbird's scheduled production date is out of sequence (early) in a higher proportion than is normally found. This car was known to be in Cheyenne, Wyoming at the time of the documentation. UPDATE July 2013, Barry Moyle notified the Registry that he owns this Thunderbird. He says: I bought this Thunderbird when it was in the Lake Tahoe, Nevada area. It now resides in Auckland, New Zealand.
