This black over black, black interior, ’63 hardtop is a rare find. It was purchased new and is still owned by Ernie Schorb, of Leesburg, Florida. The car is currently displayed in the Don Garlits Classic Car Museum, which is located next to Don Garlits’ Museum of Drag Racing, in Ocala, Florida. The car has fewer than 39,000 miles and is FOR SALE. Ernie was the original NHRA Southeast Division Director, a well-known drag racing promoter and friend of such racing figures as Don Garlits, Wally Parks and Steve Gibbs. Ernie now works at Walt Disney World, is 74 years old and interested in selling his car to a “high end” enthusiast and collector who truly appreciates such a car and the very interesting history that accompanies it. - -----This car was an unusual order for Florida due to its black-on-black-on-black color and the normally hot and humid Florida climate.----
Several unique items are included with the car. These include an original set of Ford crystal glasses and presentation case, numerous awards and trophies won by the car at various car shows, and a personal letter from then Ford Vice-President and General Manager Lee Iacocca. The car also includes every item of Ford factory “paperwork” associated with the car including the bank note, owners manual, etc. The only item not included is the original factory window sticker which Ernie scraped off and discarded soon after he took delivery of the car in Miami in 1963. -------It has all of the most-desirable factory options including SelectAire Conditioner a/c, tinted windows, power windows, power steering, power brakes, power seats, each verified by the factory build sheet. The car is fitted with Dayton wire wheels (not Kelsey-Hayes), has been museum displayed for more than a decade and is virtually flawless in every respect!
