Enrique Martinez says: My 1963 Thunderbird Hardtop entered into Mexico as a Tourist car in 1986 (oficial customs decal) and for some reason it was impounded by the Mexican authorities. It was kept in a warehouse until 1991 when I bougth it in an auction. The car had Texas plates but they were removed by the authorities. The car was in very good shape with good paint (metalic rose) and complete, interiors are in matching rose color with emerald green carpets in very good condition. It has a 390 V-8 engine in blue, all electrics, tinted windows and SelectAire conditioner - unvelievable but everything was in working condition, I installed new brakes, new bands, all rubber hoses and repaired several dings in both sides. As per my inspection I think the car was restored before entering into Mexico or it was in its original condition.

In the front windshield there is a smog inspection sticker dated Sept 1986 made at a texas service station No. 5314 stating a mileage of 17780 only. (67,000 when I bouht it and 73,000 now (March 2004)
I storaged my toy in 1993 as I moved to London, returned to Mexico in 1997, and in May 1998 my Tbird was invited to the Concurso de elegancia in Huixquilucan, Mexico (see www.concursodeelegancia.com) where it was awarded the 3rd place of the Tbirds in the show. By September 1998 I moved abroad again and the T-bird is in storage again since, driven twice a year while visiting Mexico.
