Terence Simien says: I bought my 1963 Thunderbird Hardtop from a gentleman who had no information on it except for the pink slip. I have wanted a Thunderbird since I was 15 years old and although ive always wanted a 1965 bird, just couldnt pass on this '63. I'm in the process of restoring it, but funds and knowledge are limited. I've been doing alot of reading from T-bird clubs and sites, so hopefully oneday my dream will become reality. A TRUE BIRD FANATIC! thank you!
The body is straight, but has some rust. The interior is awesome, except for the dash and door panels, but the overhead lining/trim is perfect. The chrome isn't in bad shape, but little rust spots will take time to eliminate. The engine is being pulled to be rebuilt, but will take time because of funds. The front end is in bad shape, total overhaul. There is are bad rust holes in the trunk and battery areas. If anyone has any advice on the best way to restore my dream, please email me at tdsimien@hotmail.com. All replies are appreciated and saved for future reference. One day it will be on the road! I continue to scan all the pictures of Thunderbirds from 1961 to 1966 and am amazed at how well these cars are restored, but i also get a little worried when i hear how much money was put into restoring them, but again, Iwill take my time and do it right the first time!! Thank you again and please email me with any advice!
