Dan Sublette says: My wife and I were married in Indiana in 1969. Shortly thereafter we purchased this 1963 Thunderbird Convertible - we were the third owners. It has been in the family ever since. My folks had it for a while and they took it to eight national Vintage Thunderbird Club of America meets during the 1980s. However the carburetor overflowed during a parade about 12 or 14 years ago and caught fire. It was sent to the barn to rust away and become a home to a variety of critters. In the fall of '03 I brought the car to Texas and started a complete restoration. At the current rate of progress it should be back on the road in the fall of '06. The story of this car and my family is being published as a six-part series in the VTCI publication called "Thunderbird Scoop". Part four was in issue (Nov/Dec 2005). This 1963 Thunderbird was part of the North Texas Vintage Thunderbird Club show in June, 2010. UPDATE April 2021, it was sold at auction in Kissimmee, Florida on January 10, 2020. - (photo added) - - UPDATE June 2023, it is for sale at The Last Detail in North Chicago, Illinois.
