This is a 1963 Thunderbird Special Landau. This car was documented in January, 2000 by Don Kimrey of Kansas City, Missouri as being owned by Gene Porter of New Mexico. UPDATE June 2018, this Thunderbird is for sale in Tooele, Utah. It has been painted, had the vinyl roof removed, and the interior is black with red painted accents. The Special Edition plaque is still on the console, verified in a YouTube video as being #611 which was part of the 2000 documentation. UPDATE September 2019 it is for sale in Las Vegas, Nevada. UPDATE May 2022, Greg Sargent notified the Registry that he owns this car. He says: The car has been considerably modified over the years and is now bright red including the hardtop. Modern disc brake system has been installed and it has 18-inch custom wheels and tires. The motor may or may not be original but looks stock, however it has a nice dual exhaust system on it. It is also an air conditioned car. The interior has been reworked with a heavy leatherette vinyl and a red color has been added to the aluminum trim panels inside. It is a far from perfect car, however it is and enjoyable cruiser that starts and runs well considering it's age.
