Kevin Thomas says: I purchased this 1963 Thunderbird Special Landau after seeing a for sale ad placed in our local newspaper and making one phone call to the owner. Upon visiting a storage hangar at a small local airport, this Thunderbird turned out to be just as the owner's wife described it to me. Being neglected and in somewhat dilapidated condition, it was taken by trailer to my house and then to a rental garage - as well as numerous trips to repair shops for exhaust, brakes, motor rebuild, vinyl roof covering, and body work with a repaint. This was one of the most complete original cars and needing little in replacement parts that I have ever seen. To the best of my knowledge this Monaco Landau and one other example located in Abilene are the only Special Landaus registered in the State of Kansas. I am the third owner of this truly unique automobile.
This Special Landau is limited edition number 684.
