Layne Ainsworth says that he understands his 1963 Thunderbird Sports Roadster was the prize in a model car contest. It was damaged by hail in Sheridan Lake, South Dakota then parked for a while before it was restored by his father in the 1970s. UPDATE A newspaper document indicates that this car had been repossessed and was due to be sold at auction on November 12, 1963 in Gloucester, New Jersey.
