Steve Bryant says: I have owned this M-Series Sport Roadster, which I affectionately refer to as "Old Red" since 1973, going on 32 years. It has about 71,000 original miles on it and is basically a maintained car, rather than a fully restored car. It has been painted once, in 1972 before I got it, and the engine was redone in 2001. I always felt that it is too good of a car to tear up and start over with and it looks and drives great going down the road. It is a very straight, rust-free car, having spent seven of the first 10 years of its life in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was built in September 1962 and was initially sold to the Ford zone office in Illinois, apparently as an executive car or promotional vehicle. <p>It has numerous options including a/c, leather seats, power seats on both sides, power steering and brakes, in addition to the 6v-390 engine. It has only an AM radio and does not have power door locks. It had 62-style plain centered hubcaps on it when I got it, and I assume they are the originals, though I don't know when the black-centered caps with the gold bird started being used. It has the dress-up kit on the M engine, including the radiator overflow tank, air cleaner, valve covers, fuel log and dipstick, as well as the radiator cap. It does not have a chrome power steering reservoir or brake master cylinder and these parts on the car appear to be original, causing me to question if the dress up kit truly included these other chrome parts.
