Paul V. Battaglia says: I purchased this car just prior to Thanksgiving of 2004 in Brooklyn, NY from an 88 year old widow whose husband owned and operated a service station for 35+ years. I was alerted to it's availability by an acquaintance in one of my clubs before the ad was run and competition ensued. This vehicle has been totally done over from bumper to bumper, the chassis, entire drive train, brakes and lines, the interior and exterior. Since it was basically stored for nearly four years and rarely driven the car shows dust and lack of use signs at most plus a partial lack of detailing. I had it taken back to my home on a flatbed by my regular mechanic rather than chance driving it. After all, I want my specialist Thunderbird mechanic to go through every system and retorque/recheck every component before we take it on the road and exert a load on the engine. I am having him perform this for me later this month (February) via flatbed. <p>The detailing is not completed, there are a number of things that need attention and one day I will have a superior (my opinion) paint job done, but all of the major and most other points of this car have been professionally performed with OEM, NOS or reproduction parts. I spent nearly six and one half years awaiting this car for the colour combinations, options, condition, body type and overall strength. I could not be more pleased as this is a Sports Roadster Convertible with a 390 cid/300 hp 4v, white top, silver mink body and red interior. (I have sent off for the gate release for air tight authentication to reflect it is a Factory Roadster.) <p>The true and correct K-H wire wheels with spare are present, correct tires, tonneau cover, PS, power seats, PB, PW, working clock, working and original AM/FM radio, optional dual exhaust and original factory air conditioning. The floor mats are original and in fine condition both front and rear. <p> The data plate information is offered here to verify what the car is as well: "76B" is 2-Dr Convertible Sports Roadster, "G" is Silver Mink exterior, "55" is red vinyl interior, "09K" is October 9th build date, "23" is DSO-Philadelphia, "1" is the 3.00:1 axle ratio and "4" is Cruise-O-Matic transmission. My professional Thunderbird expert/mechanic gave the car a "98" for my insurance purposes and though he is strict, he is always fair and honest both personally and professionally. -----
The car is now in winter storage though I have been down every night taking mental notes as well as an actual list of what the car requires both priority and over time. I have pictures to offer if interested.
