UPDATE January 2016, Roger Ingram notified the Registry that he owns this Thunderbird. He says: “Ruby” has a 390ci 300hp Thunderbird Special V8 engine, Cruise-O-Matic transmission, power steering, power brakes, Swing-Away steering column, automatic parking brake release, turn signals with front fender indicators, Silent-Flo ventilation system, power windows, power driver’s seat, Select-Aire conditioner, tinted glass, AM/FM radio with Cassette and rear speakers, and a vinyl top. She rolled out of Ford’s Wixom plant on Feb. 4, 1964 with a suggested retail price of $5,393 and was sold new by Courtesy Motor Sales, 3567 West Grand Avenue, Chicago, Illinois (per original Ford invoice). When I purchased this car in January, 2013, it had no carburetor, the brakes weren't working, and she needed a lot of work and TLC. Since then I have installed a new master cylinder, rebuilt the power steering gear box, replaced the leaf springs, rebuilt the front end suspension, repaired the air conditioning, rebuilt and balanced the driveshaft, installed a new water pump, transmission cooler, intake manifold, and of course a new carburetor. Lots of other items and cosmetic details have also been given attention. She looks and drives great for a lady of her age. My wife and I are current members of VTCI and the VTCI Central Arizona chapter. I am proud to report that “Ruby” was awarded Best Thunderbird Hardtop for both 2014 and 2015 at the Annual Historic Route 66 Fun Run in Arizona, a 800+ car show event and 156 mile cruise from Seligman to Topock/Golden Shores, Arizona with many interesting stops that include Peach Springs, Hackberry, Kingman and Oatman to name a few. I love driving this car!
