David Webber says: I have just opened the container here in Melbourne, Australia today 22nd of October, 2003 and my 1964 Thunderbird Hardtop has arrived fit and well as it left California five weeks ago. The engine fired on the 5th attempt and idled as sweet as a nut. I bought the car from Dan Garber in Sun City, California over the Internet, who purchased it at a Palm Springs Auction last year. We duly met at the US shipping agent in Compton, California in early September where we were genuinely surprised at the cars overall condition. Although not perfect it is in pretty good overall shape. I plan to drive it on a regular basis without converting it to right hand drive There are a couple of minor things to straighten up for a roadworthy certificate and away we go.
<p>It is Brittany Blue (Q) with a blue vinyl interior (52), and was scheduled for production on February 14, 1964 (14B). It was ordered through the San Jose, California District Sales Office (72). There is also a brass plaque on dash with a Thunderbird emblem and the name John Novac - most likely the name of the original owner.
