Paul A. Keats Jr. says: My 1964 Thunderbird Convertible was bought new by Mr. Cecil R. Wurster on February 7, 1964 at Babin Motors of Jonesville, Louisiana. The invoice says that the car's price was $5,129.20. Mr. Wurster drove it until February, 1997 when he moved from Chevy Chase, Maryland to California. He sold it to his real estate agent who quickly realized that the old convertible without air conditioning was impractical for showing homes to prospective buyers. I purchased the car from the agent in June, 1997 for $8,700. The car is in original condition, having been repainted ten years ago. The suspension has been replaced, the transmission overhauled, and the engine removed to repair any leaks. "BLACKBIRD" sits in my garage; I drive it every weekend. It cruises at 70 miles per hour plus without any strain.
