This 1964 Thunderbird convertible belonged to one of my clients. The car was towed to my house because of a bad water pump and I was going to change it. However, the tow truck driver changed those plans dramatically. He removed the tie downs and tow cable from the car and started tilting the bed. The car had slipped out of park and the parking brake was weak. The car rolled off of the truck and fell about 4 feet to the pavement. It then continued to roll down my driveway crashing into the opening of my garage door and then crashing into the rear of my recently restored 430 Sunroof car. In all the damage to my property was $12,000 and the 64 was totalled by the insurance company. I bought the 64 from the insurance company, repaired the damage and secured a salvage title on the car. The car really was not damaged that much - about $2500 worth of work put it back on the road. I then sold the car to a new owner in Los Angeles. + + + UPDATE March 2012, Cody Burch reports this Thunderbird is for sale in Norco, California for $26,500. It has SelectAire Conditioner and power windows. (picture added)
