Scott Anderson says: We owned this 1964 Brittany Blue Landau from the spring of 1979 until 1983. We were the third owner. This DSO 84 (Home Office Reserve) car was ordered and tagged by a Ford exec named James A. Collins, (as his company car) and the car was delivered to the Ford General Offices Garage on Oakwood Blvd in Dearborn. Strangely optioned out with the ultra rare Transistorized Ignition, power windows, reclining passenger seat with headrest, fender skirt delete option and no air conditioning, and only an AM radio. We purchased the car for $1000. It had rusty quarters and needed paint. I procured patch panels, NOS skirts, and we had the car painted in 12 coats of Brittany Blue lacquer. The interior was showroom, the car had well under 50k miles on it. We drove the car seasonally every year until approached by a friend in 1983 who "absolutely HAD to have this car"... we sold it for $3500. A steep price back then for a Landau. His daughter promptly got into an accident with the car, it was hit so hard in the rear it reportedly broke the engine off its mounts. She was also very seriously injured as i recall. The last I had heard, the car was promptly junked and scrapped at a local salvage yard. Looking back fondly, this car was an exquisite driving car, and we enjoyed it very much. Wish I had another one just like it today!
