Ian Mills says: My 1965 Thunderbird Hardtop came from San Francisco in 1995. It looked like the colour was Emberglo Metallic at first sighting as it was so sun damaged! It has since had a repaint back to original colour and the damaged upholstery has been redone. The engine shows 73,000 miles which possibly is genuine going by the condition of the running gear etc. The transmission was dropping a lot of fluid so was rebuilt while it was out anyway.
Due to our winding bumpy roads over here I have beefed up the suspension with heavy duty shocks, a thicker anti-roll bar and a few new bushes here and there plus an alignment to suit driving on the "wrong side of the road" It was also treated to a new Holley carb as the one on it was found to be a mere 450cfm, the performance is a lot better now. The car is used regularly during the weekends and is much admired and often requested for weddings and promos etc. This Thunderbird resides in Auckland, New Zealand.
