This 1966 Thunderbird Town Hardtop is to be offered for sale at the Barrett-Jackson Orange County 2012 Auction (Lot #620.1). It has under gone a year long restoration which includes a rebuilt 428 engine and overhauled transmission. The car has a recently painted blue exterior and the interior is new in a blue and white color combo. It has SelectAire Conditioner, power windows and vent windows and power seat (passenger recliner and headrest). UPDATE September 2012 it is for sale at Newport Beach Auto Gallery in Costa Mesa, California. + + + + Additional information, the original colors of this Thunderbird were Sahara Beige lower (H) and Vintage Burgundy upper (X); its original interior was Emberglo vinyl (headrest). This two-tone paint combination is not listed in Ford manuals or paint books; this car was a pre-sold unit destined for a particular customer. This car is certainly "1-of-1" in the record books for 1966. The Registry has a picture of the dataplate. UPDATE May 2020, it was recently sold by Barrett-Jackson.
